Celebrities on the corner
An instant forest has sprung up on our local street corner, complete with some pretty well-known characters. Shortly after I took this photo, I encountered a very happy man on a nearby sidewalk.
"Good afternoon, ma'am!" he said cheerfully as I walked by.
"Good afternoon," I replied.
"I just saw Eli Manning!" he told me, and anyone else within earshot. "He was buying a Christmas tree, right over there!"
Just imagine how happy the guy would have been if our famous young neighbor had won a game.

Did you miss the Macy's parade?
Here's a panoramic photo that lets you look at Spongebob and friends every which way. It requires Quicktime, so if you can't see the picture, you'll need to get that, but it's free. There's even a third-party Linux for Quicktime.
Once you get the picture, just click and drag to see it from all angles. The same site offers 38 other 360-degree panoramic virtual tours of New York.

...and we're back!
Our apologies -- an infestation of comment spam, followed by technical difficulties with Blogger, led to an unexpected and frustrating hiatus from posting here. Thank you for your patience.
While we were out, the blogosphere made news again in the real world: the top word of 2004 is "blog".

Extended holiday?
Not quite. Unfortunately, this blog has been flooded with comment spam in recent days, so as soon as I take care of that and rearrange a few other things, I'll be blogging backwards and forwards to fill in the gaps. Please stand by, and thanks for your patience.
