Calm reflections
The Hudson was exceptionally calm this morning, giving us a double view of the Manhattan skyline:

Chim -- cough! -- chiminey
As lucky as lucky can be? The photographer was lucky, anyway, to spot these chimney sweeps at work on a nearby roof:

He's got brains
I took some photos today, but not a one of them is as interesting as these images of cousin Buddy Don's brain.

A sneak preview
Psssst! I'm working on a new blog. Not a replacement for this one, but an additional one focused on media commentary. Here's a preview. Whattaya think? I haven't got the comments feature set up there yet, so if you've got comments, just leave them here.

Too close for comfort
I wish this were an aberration. Unfortunately, it's all too typical these days. What, if anything, do we gain by letting planes fly so close to Manhattan and particularly its tallest surviving building? Air traffic managed just fine without getting so close for the first year or so after 9/11, but these days it seems the planes and helicopters keep getting closer and closer.
These two photos were taken within minutes of each other this afternoon:

Toy dinosaur not included
