Equinox
We're celebrating the first day of spring by watching the snow melt. How about you? We also went for a walk and found a seagull who really, really wanted to have his picture taken. You'll have to visit the Earth Rover to see him.

Invasion anniversary
Last year at this time, I had a lot to say about the U.S. invasion of Iraq. This year, however, I'd rather mark the anniversary with a moment of silence to honor those we've lost, and a prayer for peace. In order to establish that silence, I have to turn off the news and the sounds of more explosions in Baghdad. Peace, out.

Snow* on the Agenda...and on the pier
See more of this generation of ice forms on the Earth Rover blog, also updated today.
*They're saying we'll get another 3 to 6 inches overnight.

The wearin' o' the snow
We do have a bit of green on this St. Patrick's Day, but you have to look carefully for it.
Along with the snow, the ice forms have returned, but you'll have to visit the Earth Rover blog to see them.

Still winter
But maybe it will all be melted by spring (i.e. this weekend).

Distant cousin
Please welcome the sorta kinda planet Sedna to our known solar system! She's 13 billion kilometers, or 8 million miles, from earth, and approximately 1,000 miles (1,700 kilometers) wide, smaller than Pluto, and the most distant of earth's known cousins orbiting the sun.

Alive, alive-o
Today's most underplayed news item: a Connecticut seafood company has discovered that some of its frozen lobsters can be brought back to life. Barnet L. Liberman, CEO of Trufresh, said resurrection is not his primary goal. He said he just wants to supply tasty lobsters. The resurrectable lobsters will be sold with rubber bands on their claws, just in case.
