Birds of all ages seem to be enjoying the extreme low tides we're experiencing right now, the most extreme highs and lows we've had in 19 years.

Garden State geese
I used to think the Canada geese we see so often here on the waterfront were just passing through. But so many of them have decided to settle here in the Garden State that there's a name for them: Resident Canada Geese. They're not exactly welcome residents, either.

Imagine a rainbow...
...over Manhattan, from Battery Park to Inwood, shining in the sunshine after a June thunderstorm. You have to imagine it because today when I saw it on my way home, I didn't have the camera with me. What a perfect beginning for Gay Pride Month.

Angels above
This morning I heard a loud rumble, like a plane flying low and fast overhead, only moreso. I looked out the window just in time to see the Blue Angels flying over the Hudson, toward the Statue of Liberty. Happy Memorial Day!
